London to Brighton Bike Ride British Heart Foundation
London to Brighton Bike Ride British Heart Foundation is just around the corner…. and two of our colleagues at Richmond Osteopaths are doing it!
Suraj and Ellie are all set to go. We have been watching them build up their training program and have helped them with their various niggles and strains to keep them fit and prepared.
In the event’s four-decade history, over 800,000 cyclists from all over the UK have taken part in the ride, pedalling over 40 million miles and helping raise over £65m for the BHF’s life saving research into heart disease (www.bhf.org.uk).
The British Heart Foundation funds around £100 million of life saving Heart research every year without financial support from the government.
Millions of people in the U.K. still live with the daily burden of Heart and circulatory disease and it is responsible for more than a quarter of all deaths. There is still so much more we need to do.
We think it is a great cause and we are very proud of Suraj and Ellie for their contribution, we will be ‘watching’ you on the big day.
Suraj said: “I like to challenge myself, so, after some persuasion from Ellie, I decided that entering the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride with only 3 weeks to go would be a good way to do it! Plus, I’ve got to put my Lycra to good use, eh? Heart issues affect those I love, so I am particularly passionate about supporting the British Heart Foundation and the fantastic work they do. If you’re kind enough to show your support, donations are more than welcome at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/suraj-mehta or by texting SBMM89 with an amount £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070.
